About Us

Our Story

Established in August 2008, Groomed to Go Inc. is a not-for-profit organisation that exists to provide clothing and support services to those in need. Groomed to Go started its journey as Dress for Success Mornington Peninsula, a local branch of the globally recognised Dress for Success organisation, empowering women to achieve economic independence through a dressing and job support service.

In 2018, we changed our name to Dress for Success South East Melbourne, to more accurately reflect the broader community that we serve. In 2019, we recognised a need in the community for our services to support people from all walks of life and circumstances, not only women, thus the Groomed to Go brand began it's official use, with Dress For Success South East Melbourne as our support program for women.

Our Board

President

George Stancu

George is a digital transformation executive with over 20 years experience and a career spanning across world-leading organisations in Government, Healthcare, Finance, Energy, and Products sectors, both in Australia and internationally. In his role with PwC Australia, George helps drive delivery excellence within Cloud and Digital as part of the Architecture and Delivery team, utilising cutting-edge digital tools to fuel business transformation. 

Prior to this, George held significant roles at Cognizant, leading the Government and Public Services Industry for the ANZ region and at Accenture Australia and UK, focusing on cloud-based enterprise transformation programs.

In 2019, he joined Groomed to Go with the ambition of making a significant impact in the local community. Here, he channels his passion for people development and applies his wealth of experience to power our growth strategy.

Secretary

Melainie Reddy 

With over 25 years of experience within the IT industry, Melainie has delivered professional services, consulting, recruitment and HR solutions across APAC to industry leaders primarily within the Technology, FMCG, Utilities and Financial Services markets. She possesses excellent operational, analytical and delivery skills and is a business focused relationship professional with core strengths in identifying and creating new business opportunities; whilst developing long term, meaningful and strategic partnerships. Melainie is an energetic and motivational leader who is passionate about helping enterprises deliver complex projects and sustainable change.  She is known for her authenticity, leadership skills, caring qualities, highly collaborative approach, strong networking abilities, tenacity, results and drive to succeed. Melainie joined Groomed to Go in 2023 and remains focussed on equity and social responsibility as an effective pathway forward to integrating social values into action. 

Treasurer

Preeti Khushu

Preeti has worked in leadership roles in Financial Accounting and Financial Services in multiple countries and in various industries such as Technology, Financial Services, FMCG, Construction, Aviation and Real estate. Preeti retired as Director and Head of Global Business Services for the Asia Pacific region for Newell Brands in 2022. Preeti is a graduate in Economics, a Chartered Accountant, and certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt. She is passionate about gender and racial equality and believes in equal opportunities for all. She has been actively mentoring and coaching for the past 15 years and volunteers with several organisations supporting asylum seekers, gender equality and safe environment for all. In the past, Preeti was Vice President of Kashmiri cultural association.

Marian Gandy

Initially qualified in clinical biochemistry, Marian spent the bulk of her career in the pharmaceutical industry, holding roles in a diverse range of therapy areas and corporate divisions including clinical research, medical affairs and sales and marketing, both as an individual contributor and increasingly as a team and people leader. Her final role in the industry was Medical Director, Australia & New Zealand for Bristol-Myers Squibb Australia. Marian is passionate about the role that work can play in creating strong, self-confident people with solid self-esteem. She joined Groomed to Go in January 2017 as a volunteer and has been a Board member since 2018 (President Aug 2018 - May 2021).

Robyn Wight

Robyn is an Executive Assistant with a degree in Business Management who has held roles across a variety of industries, she currently works for a global Medical Device company as an Administration Manager. She enjoys working across multiple areas building relationships that drive successful projects.

Robyn has been able to support Groomed to Go remotely while working full time utilising skills obtained over many years. She joined as Secretary in November 2016 and remained in that role until March 2023 when she accepted a role as a Board Member. She believes very strongly that everyone deserves a chance to succeed and achieve economic independence. By donating her time to this organisation, Robyn aims to make a difference.

Geraldine Field (Williams)

Geraldine (Geri) is a lawyer with over 30 years of experience in large law firms, currently with MinterEllison.  She has extensive experience in advising regulated entities particularly in the financial services and funds management industries.  As a consequence she has highly developed analytical and problem solving skills in helping people to find commercially acceptable solutions to complex issues.  Geri believes wholeheartedly in the work being done by Groomed to Go, helping people experiencing disadvantage to obtain appropriate clothing, styling and skills to aid them in finding a job which in turn helps improve their self-esteem and enable them to move forward positively with their lives.  She is excited to be joining the talented and passionate team of people at Groomed to Go, and is looking forward to helping Groomed to Go to continue making a difference.
